Actually, metallic dragons are prone to acts of rashness as well, so one might actually be trying to kill any adventurers, not just evil ones.

Since we've only the hostile and stupid green, black and whites in so far ... it's been easy. As larger dragons or other colors are added, I'll be adding in some new features.
I'd love to have a Copper Dragon that if you answer a riddle lets you go free, and if not .. eats you. Maybe a Ancient Gold you find asleep and have a slim chance of slipping past and if you wake him .. oh well .. he's not gonna ask for Id before eating your paladin.

Why not make it a Gold Dragon in human form like in the classic D&D Castle Amber module. Anyone evil enough to attack innocent people deserves the wrath of a gold dragon in disguise.

I'm guessing that although both types would attack adventurers trespassing in their lairs, metallic ones might give some keep out warning sign or something, in case someone does actually find the lair.
Something nice and ambiguous like, "Warning. If you enter here, you will not leave." Probably in multiple languages. And in case someone can't read, a skull decorating the sign.

Not sure it would work as a scripted event, but it's a good idea for a DM event. I may have to borrow that myself, will give the good aligned adventurers something to think on the next time they "heroically" kill orcs in their beds.
