I'm going to have a project in my Comparative Languages class where I have to use a non-mainstream programming language (Mainstream being C/C++, Visual Basic, Java, etc.) for some application, and I was thinking about using NWScript. I don't know how to use this language yet, however.
Basically we are supposed to find a problem, then work on a solution using the chosen language. Does anyone have any suggestions for whether I should use NWN or any other language, or develop my own?

NWScript is closely based on C++ and therefore also somilar to JavaScript, so I'm not sure it'd meet your requirements. I'm also not sure that it could preform a task outside of the actual game engine either. Would that be an issue?

I'm not sure. I've only had one class so far, and she hasn't discussed the project yet.
