Around the year 1232 or so, the last outpost of Ammarindar *dwarven home in the Graypeaks*, was overran by the Duergar, with the help of a lone mad woman mage "Anne". She joined forces with the duergar to invade the last outpost of the once thriving dwarven home of Ammarindar.
During the battle to take over the outpost, or shortly after, the mad woman was slain. A lock of her hair was taken by the dwarves and warded against her ever returning.
Over a hundred years later, she was able to return enough *but not permanently* to start to seek out her lost lock of hair. Many adventurers were also slain and locks of their hair was taken by her for reasons yet to be known.
A group of adventurers ran upon some old dwarven journals and writtings to lead them towards finding the last outpost of Ammarindar. A member of Clan Longhammer, clued in on what was going on, decided to seek them out to gather the old dwarven writtings. A group of adventurers went to the dwarves and were told the story of the fall of the last outpost. They were told the dwarves held the last lock of the evil woman's hair, and that it was last being held in the High Moor.
After exploring some of the High Moor, a group was lead down into the UnderMoor through a sink hole. They came across some very nasty duergar there. Upon one of the duergar, once slain, they found a sealed scroll. It stated that the missing lock of hair was found, and that the woman would indeed return again soon.
Many days later, three brilliant flashes of red bursts in the sky northwest of Orlbar. A large group of would be heroes were formed, and headed out towards the source of the light flashes, leading them high upon a hill to a sealed door in the mountain foothills.
Lightning crashed, and eventually the door, to their surprise, came open. They entered these new halls, only to discover vast amounts of undead, and even some living Talona worshipers. The group battled their way deeper and deeper, eventually arriving in a large room deep within the foothill.
They survived, barely, undead attacks, and the attacks of the Talonite mages. There among the turmoil, stood the mad woman "Anne". She began bombarding them with magics, and the group's fate looked dim.
Some of the group decided to try and reason with the mad woman, and claim to help her. In her desperate hour of wanting to fulfill the ceremony to return fully to the world, "Anne" took them up on the offer, and the group divided itself greatly. Attacking one another, some for the good of the world, some for the simple request of the mad woman. Their reasons for doing so are only known to them.
One brave, and smart woman, found an engraved and evil crate filled with the locks of hair taken from others, along with a vial of mages blood. This woman, Elena, grabbed the box, and emptied threw the hair into the fire deep down in the dungeon. "Anne" was infuriated and demanded it be repayed. Elena, and another managed to escape the battle, quickly distancing themselves from that awful place, with the evil crate that the mad woman had on them.
Deep inside the depths there the mad woman received the aid of the once would be heroes of the area. Once she had chanted, and prayed over the locks of hair, and blood that had been taken from their once friends, she allowed them to leave.
There were three others left for dead down there, and the mad woman gave them all her mark, and had their bodies dragged out of the deep halls.
If they recovered, one can only guess, but if so, they are marked now with a scar that no mere simple healing magic will take away.
It is not known how much the mad woman was actually able to return to the realm of the living, or if there is more for her to do so still.
One thing is certain however. Allies were lost, friends betrayed, and evil triumphed that day.

"She took some of my hair!" a woman cried.
Traveling safely north of Orlbar at night has become somewhat more dangerous lately. The locals in Orlbar tend to stay well within the walls during the evening hours. More and more rumors of undead, and the mysterious woman with them trickle in.
//Will have a DM ran event this upcoming Friday with this. Will be an on going plot for awhile.

On a chill night, many adventurers sat about the campfire in Orlbar discussing a possible trip to squish ants for the farmer's near Drukard's Mill ( sp? ) when an odd howl sounded. Some felt it was the wind. Some felt it the sound of an old man after a bender. Others heard something more sinister.
A bat as big as a vulture, whom some swore was made of bone, swooped about and was shot at, and finally slain. Twas then many of the group took arms when a second of the creatures attacked from the night sky and took flight. A general consensus was reached to investigate the graveyard mand the small crowd moved out the gate.
After leaving the village, shambling corpses were sighted, not comming from the graveyard but from further north. Entering the territory of the Yellowtooth Goblin Clan a fight was witnessed between the goblins and the walking dead. THe party dispatched both, suffering minor wounds, but some were disturbed by the dead goblins, whom they swore attacked their former knismen during the melee.
In the lands of the Broken Nose Hobgoblins a similar battle was seen once more. A third battle in the in the Hillgoblin Tribe's lands saw a number of shambling corpses and archers lined a ridge. Those who rushed to end the shower of arrows tell of seeing a mysterious figure on the heights directing the fire before an inky darkness surrounded the figure.
One claimed to have been paralyzed by '"bad juju" and sliced with a wicked knife. His claim that a lady, very short, with skin like porcelin from east crept up and smiled wickedly, stinking worse than any dwarf he had ever met and took blood from while he could not move were ignored as a jojurnal had been found.
The book was written in dwarven runes. A cold wind whipped up as an elf read a passge from the Tome: The wall cracks are opening more and more. Isn't long before the greybeards get in. We have held them as long as possible. News reached us of another Dwarven home in the high moor that is under attack.
Any who wish to hear this tale in more detail may seek out:
Peyote Daewath Boldun "Spike" Silenthammer Sleezal 'Snake' Darnath Edward Nuge Lorkuma K'zarith Qassim

OK, my first post here...but I will try to recap yesterdays events.. Irstlain and Peyote were on a trip to the trueblood goblins (yes I know Irstlain is not allowed there but it was DM approved). On the way there we were attacked by undead one of which had a letter on it. The letter told a story about "east of Llorkh lies the remains, in the dwarven depths we shall reign...gather the tools to build us a home in the place where no good dwarf would roam... I will spare you the details of the rest of our trip to the truebloods...let me just say that we could really have used Simon there but as usual he was unavailable when most needed. Next thing we are in Llorkh meeting up with the arrogant elves Roric and Calendir whose only reason for not attacking Irstlain are the presence of the powerful Elrolas, the renowned elf whose friendship Irstlain is blessed with. One after one great heroes emerge both the tall Elena and the not so tall Hypolyta Swiftclimber Suddenly a dwarf of clan Longhammer aproaches us and speak of the undead attacks that has occured recently. Peyote shows the dwarf some ancient books that he has acquired and I show him the letter that points us in the direction of the old fort ruin/cave east of Llorkh. We are told that he is willing to pay great money if we are able to investigate the matters further and return to him with more of these books. The dwarf seem quite disturbed by the books and rants about "it has begun again". With these ill tidings we set out for the fort/cave ruin. Outside Llorkh Elrolas has to leave us on important business but he is later on replaced by Edward Nudge who proves a great asset to the company. Closing in on the fort we stumble in to a battered dwarf whose wounds we tend to. He tells a frightening story about explosions that has bereaved him of the entire party he came with and that if we see the witch women of which the ancient books we hold, speak of, we should run for our lives. Encumbered by the dwarfs tale we walk down towards the ruins. The first goblin we encounter there tries to blow him self up by banging on a barrel with explosives. Elena stands very close to him and in the battle she does not hear Irstlains cry for her to move away. Irstlain chants ancient magic words and a volley of piercing missiles is unleashed from his fingers, but alas they strike the foul creature too late and a powerful explosion engulfes Elena as the creature destroyes the barrel. Fearing the worst Irstlain runs towards her while in his heart he prays that the queen of air still holds her disciple so close to her that previous battles has beared witness about. As the smoke is scattered he sees Elena stand on her feet, and Irstlain almost thanks the god he has cursed every day since the day his father died in one of the prototypes of the gnomish invention..the flying machine After this incident Irstlain suggests that they should use these barrels against the goblins, should they encounter more of them. Spirits high with the new found tactic our fellow adventurers battle themselves into the cave. Now inside the cave...CEP finished the update can someone finish it, if not I will finish the story later

//I play Irstlain
...Part 2...Inside the cave we soon discover that something is terribly wrong..the walls fillied with battle scars and ancient dwarven ruins echoes with the ghostly footsteps of the earthbound spirits that walk among us...spirits of dead dwarfs which the company realizes must belong to the heroes that defended the cave from an evil invasion.
The elf Roric seems to have gone mad in battlerage and Elena constantly has to tend to his wounds as his flesh is pierced again and again by goblin blades...
Our company fight their way to the lower level of the dungeon where Irstlain manage to decipher one of the battered runes of the caver pillers..the rune speaks the word Arradandir. //IRCC
We locate another book written in the ancient dwarven language, but are soon hereafter forced to leave the cave as we are rushed by numerous goblin foes.
Back in Llorkh our company meets the Longhammer dwarf who pays handsomely but are unable to give us any answers about the books or of the word Arradandir.
The company of lost lore he names us and tells us to come to Clan Longhammer to meet his thane...he will have answers for us he promises and in return our company promise to travel to the Longhammer dwarfs as soon as possible.
By the name "The company of lost lore" he names us and by that name the thane will await us.

// A few things.
1st. Nicely done tonight. You all survived well.
2nd. I should have had the party of "traitors" break party and become hostile. But it is what it is, and was played how it was played.
3rd. If your pc was slain by another pc you DO NOT remember it.
4th. If your pc was injured by another pc, and then slain by a monster, you do remember it.
5th. Should bring forth some interesting changes in pc relations from here on out.
6th. DO NOT ninja loot. Looting while still in combat is not allowed.

It was hard to not have hostile enemies attack newly made allies. It wasn't easy to keep everyone alive, hell or even dead for that matter, for long. While I hesitated to have her go with allies instead of smite you all, I think it was nice.

//kk Posted the story as it played out on the first post. It has been changed to reflect a good general idea of what happened during this entire plotline. I did of course, leave out most things I thought could be metagamed or had the potential for it. Hope you all enjoyed it, even if you weren't on the "winning side"
