The DM's Role:
- DMs will attempt to treat everyone as fairly as they can, and will try not jump to conclusions.
- DMs will treat players with respect regardless of past incidents involving them.
- DMs will offer advice, and answer questions when asked or find the answer and get back to the player when they don't know themselves.
- DMs will not include or exclude any players from serverwide events and quests unless RP dictates. A Player's Faction/Guild, Class, Alignment, Race and IC actions will be used to determine their participation in serverwide events and quests, nnot whether a particular DM is their friend or not.
- DMs will reward players with RP/XP awards as a group and not exclude some in a party ever, nor give some more or less than others for a group experience.
- DMs will not create custom items/rewards for individual players here. Deserving players will be noted by DMs and suggestions or requests for "something special" made to our Admins instead. A DM may later be given the item/reward to expedite getting it to the player if an Admin needs though.
- DMs will never purposely kill off parties or individual players, though accidents and lag may at times make it appear otherwise. DM will at times possess NPCs and creatures to hopefully inject a little challenge or change here, but will never do such inorder to harress players.
- DMs will not decide or exact punishments when players are caught violating rules here. DMs will document and report such to the Admins instead. A DM may carry out a punishment on behalf of an Admin (Mostly in cases where an Admin and the player in question are not online together often.), but only after the Admin has informed both the player and DMs of the decision here on our boards.
- DMs may in the rare instance of an unruly or abusive player may port that player's PC to our jail until an Admin can intervene. This is their last resort and only employed when a player is being disruptive to the point of ruining other player's fun here. DMs will be required to have first saved/sent screenshots and logs of the incident to our Admins before taking such a step.
- DMs will not openly criticise a players RP here. If a DM believes a character is being played that strays too far from our source materials, the DM may and should offer suggestions to the player in question as it's often a case of not knowing any better. If a DM believes a player is deliberately doing something harmful, spiteful or totally out of sorts with a characters background (race, region, religion, alignment, etc..) they will instead document and report it to our Admins.
The Player's Role:
- Players are expected to follow both the OOC and IC rules pertaining to this server.
- Players are expected to treat each other and DMs with respect here.
- If a Player believes they are being harrassed or treated unfairly by other players or DMs they should report it immediately to our Admins here. (Screenshots and logs preferred.)
- Players are expected to stay "IC" once they leave our OOC Starting Area. OOC comments during a group break and chats with each other or DMs is fine if it's been noted that everyone is being OOC at the time. Cooments during normal play should use one of the following to denote an OOC comment though: **, // or ((. Comments to others regarding game mechanics should be done in private TELLS as well. (IE: explaining to a new player how to walk or use certain emotes, etc... .)
- Players will respect and accept the instructions of DMs here. If in doubt as to what a DM is telling a player(s), they should either PM an Admin or make a general post on our forums here asking for clarification.
- Players are expected to accept the IC consequences of their character's actions IG here. If a PC goes on a murdering spree of other PCs and NPCs, then a player shouldn't be suprised at any IC outcomes when they are caught ICly. If a player regularly plays their character in a way that conflicts with their classes, race, alignments, etc.. , they shouldn't be suprised at future alignment shifts of the character and or restrictions to guilds or prestige classes.
- Players are expected to have fun. If you're not, please tell a DM or Admin why.
