So while I was considering all of the shrines and temples on SFS and how many deities are represented by these holy/unholy sites, I started wondering about how well the various Forgotten Realms gods are represented by the various player-characters on this server.
The cultures of the Realms are polytheistic in nature; all gods are given some measure of respect, even by people who disagree with the worship or roles of some of those gods. An exception to that norm may be those gods who are in direct conflict to one's principles or favored deity (ie. extremely rare is the Umberlant willing to toss a copper to one of Valkur's shrines, and rarer yet is the elf who would offer a prayer to the likes of Gruumsh), but even then, respect or even displays of faith are afforded to all gods in general; all but the staunchest Ilmateri may offer prayers and tribute to Talona, if only to plead for the Mother of Plagues to stay her hand and withdraw the scourges of her latest epidemic.
But in practice, although all gods are given at least some passing lip service when courting their dominions, characters tend to prefer one divine patron or matron over all others; torturers for the Crown may favor Loviatar, a conqueror leading an army may live or die by his fealty to the Red Knight, and Uthgardt culture has been sworn to Uthgar and Tempus for a great many generations. And those are the gods which I'm considering here. So which ones do your characters favor?
(There's no need to mention which of your characters favor which deities; some players or their characters may wish to veil their celestial allegiances for whatever reason. And since the SFS module doesn't include all deities in its Character Creation engine, simply use brackets to indicate the "actual" deity that your character was compelled by the module's current limitations to pick as a substitute.)
