There has been some talk in various corners of this server lately that goblins breed like rabbits. Which of course they do. (they must if they are going to survive the massive daily losses they suffer).
I have even heard speculation voiced that goblins may be closely related to rabbits, sharing the same family and genus.
And that led me to wonder.
If a domesticated pig will regain some of its feral traits after living in the wild. Regaining a set of tusks and a coat of wiry hairy. Perhaps goblins are the function of similar epigenetic effect on rabbits.
Perhaps when a population of rabbits reaches the maximum level easily sustained by its environment it reaches a tipping point. Just like a plague of locust.
What was once a field of fluffy bunnies is now a warren of goblins.
Maybe it less Goblins breed like Rabbits and more Rabbits breed Goblins
Just a thought.
Now off to make Toril safe for bunnies again. : )
