Had a few suggestions/concerns/questions,
Currently I am playing a UMD rogue. By that I mean I want to focus on being a rogue that specializes and uses magical devices in combat. I'm not saying I'm just using UMD for a few buff spells from wands etc before entering into combat but I want to be a rogue that slings spells as often and as much as a sorc might. I realized this might be an expensive path to walk and a difficult one. My rogue does not duel-wield, does not have knockdown, has 8 constitution, but wants to focus on combat spells. I wanted to play my rogue a little differently than how they are typically or most effectively played. I feel this style fits my character better and I find my self spending my money on staves from Loudwater rather than stealth cloaks and leech daggers and so on.
My current concerns-
-I can't seem to find any class only items with high level spells.
-Some merchants who sell class only items only do business with characters of that class.
-Very small selection of class only items with spells to be found.
-Class only staves all have light on them.
-Many of the better staves for sale have many un-needed abilities.
Question-
-I have searched every town I could think of except the dwarven town for buy-able class only magic items. Are there places I missed? Or merchants I may not know about?
Suggestions-
-Add more purchasable class only magic items to the server.
-If UMD can be used to -fake- being a specific class to determine if you can use an item, than it should also be used to -fake- that class when talking to a merchant who normally only does business with a specific class.
-Add some staves without light, light makes you an easy target in dungeons, most mages can cast light anyways, rogues using UMD like to be sneaky and light messes that up, and it increases the cost of the item.
-I love the pyro staff for sale in Loudwater it has a lot of fun spells on it but it costs 80k coin @_@.. I don't need the 15 fire resistance on it, I don't need the light, I don't need the low level spells like burning hands. Basically what I'm saying is I would like more staves/class only magic items that skip straight to the good stuff so I can conserve my hard earned coin.
-The defense staff for sale has improved mage armor on it but at the level it casts it at it gives less armor and for less time than a simple mage armor spell would do. This probably makes the staff also cost a lot more sense its a higher level spell despite its less usefulness.
Love most the items just wish there was more of them, more options, and more that can retain value at higher levels of game play. If you are worried about a low level getting an item that casts a high level spell than perhaps make it so there is a merchant that wont do business with you unless you are a higher level maybe?
Thanks for your time,
