I found out that while Dwarves are proficient in Dwarven Waraxes and need not take Weapon Proficiency: Exotic to wield one (very nice touch, goes nicely along with PnP rules), it is not possible to take Weapon Focus: Dwarven Waraxe unless you actually take the above-mentioned weapon profiency feat. Is that an intentional design choice or a bug?
