Player Housing will soon be available here.
We'd held off in the past due to the fact that players come and go sporadically (on all PWs) and that the resources used to accomodate player housing become mostly wasted in the end due to their high percentage of overall module size, resources and low daily or even weekly usage. While usage will always fluctuate, we no longer have to worry about resources being expended. Player housing, along with most Guild Areas and some other "low use" maps are being removed from the actual module and placed into a serverside hak. This removes their resources from the module itself and we'll no longer have to worry about how housing affects overall server size.
- Rentals will be charted on our Forums. Players must register there before being given housing.
- Units will be rented with one year leases and paid in advance. PMs will be sent one month prior to their expiration for renewals. Once an unrenewed lease is up, the rooms/homes shall be "rekeyed" and made available to the public once again.
- Keys will be issued based on the occupancy rating of the room/home. I.e. one key per bed (two if a double bed) or bedroom when multiple exist.
- Players are limited to a single housing area only. I.e, you cannot have housing assigned to multiple PCs, even if under an alternate account. Players caught violating this rule will lose their housing (no refunds) and likely be declined housing again afterwards.
- Private Rooms granted via a Guild Membership do not apply to the "one per player" ruling.
- Persistant Storage will not be available.
- Leases cannot be sold/transferred to other PCs/Players. The remain assigned to the original leasee until the lease has expired or is forfieted.
- Lease Holders can give up a lease early inorder to acquire housing elsewhere or make another of their PCs eligible for housing instead. No refunds for early terminations will be given however.
- Annual prices for housing will vary by type and locations.
- Housing areas will be pre-decorated and leased "as is". Minor changes may be accomodated, but there are no guarantees.
- Certain housing units may be limited to specific races, classes, etc... . Prejudices abound in the Savage Frontiers. EX: Elves may not gain housing in Llorkh.
- A minimum amount of notoriety is required before leasing housing. This translates to PCs being at least 10th level before they can apply for it. DMs can waive the 10th level requirement if warranted on a case by case basis.
When housing units are made available, they'll be announced on our Forums. DMs can then act as real estate agents and give tours of the available housing.
Stay Tuned.
