So. As many of you know a server that will not be named is back. I know that Sfs staff supposedly have good relations with this server.. but I've really got mixed feelings about it.
Sfs is a server I Wish I had found ages ago. Sure it's a work in progress but the staff is excellent and so is the majority of the community. This other server has a larger still good community, it's more complete area-wise but those advantages are offset by the fact that it's founder and owner is a complete tyrant, a jerk, and given from some of the rp I've seen out of him (as a dm possessing creatures) a disgusting pervert who doesn't care if some of his crude sexual assault based emotes are offensive to others.
It's a real issue for me since the population of Sfs seems to have dropped once this other server returned. So now I have a choice. Play on a half finished but sparsely populated server with great staff and great people and -great- scripting changes, Or play on a server that's got great areas, higher population, and mediocre staff. (yes most of the other staff on that server are pretty good. but their blind obedience to the disgusting owner, even when he's clearly in the wrong tarnishes them quite a bit) It's a tough choice, since I really love Sfs, and the other server is a poor substitute, but I also hate playing alone.

Generally speaking I would avoid spouting vitriol about this 'unnamed' server - We do have friendly relations, and your personal assessments may be valid for you, but I don't think it's necessary to drag that out here; much like real life politics, server politics are a sensitive topic prone to a lot of argument over personal opinion on the matter.
A current issue is that Diablo 3 has just released and a number of people are playing that as well - not flocking to your 'unnamed server', but enjoying the release of a long anticipated game.
Or, if you're like me, you're working 11 hour work shifts and being too tired at the end of the day to get onto nwn.

Many folk will bounce back and forth or just "go back" only to return if/when there's issues keeping it up again. That's fine. Doesn't matter to me where folk play. As far as relationships with "other" PWs goes, we're on good terms with many. Many PWs share common ground due to our joint efforts and shared information when we were all collecting cutting the nuts off of the griefers a couple years back. though its alot rarer nowadays, "we" still shall info on verified griefers and a ban on one PW for it can often become a ban on several dozen overnight (Only verifed griefing, general bans for other things are not shared nor enforced -if shared- across other PWs). The NWN Community continues to shrink. Many leave and return in spurts as the "next greatest thing" appears, then is played out. When a PW is offline, many folk at this point leave the game rather than migrate. They are too wrapped up in their characters to be "bothered" to remake them or play new ones elsewhere. So even while FRC was down the past 6 months or so, we only gained a small number from there. Where you (the OP) plays is up to you. Most folk follow the numbers. So despite all the constant griping I hear here and elsewhere about how much drama, favoritism and other stuff happens on *Insert name of any PW with a decent player base*, folk stay there because "everyone else" does. As for your claims against this "other Admin", those have no place here. Post them on "that" forum or not as you wish, but attacks against other PWs and their Staffs will not be tolerated here. They have zero bearing here afterall. It's also not a competition, at least for me. The Savage Frontier and Surrounds has no competitors. We are merely a "choice" amongst many of where to play. Lastly, players here themselves are the best tool to grow numbers. If you've friends playing elsewhere, let them know where you're at. Invite them to join you. Be ready to grab a new PC yourself and help them out though.
