Domain summons:
for the Gate spell, have specific summons per domain/classed effect:
- Has Air Domain (gets a djinni) - Has Earth Domain (gets a dao) - Has Fire Domain (gets an efreeti) - Has Water Domain (gets a marid) - Has Death Domain (gets a bodak) - Has Evil Domain (gets a balor) - Has Animal Domain (gets an astral animal) - Is a Druid/Ranger (gets an astral animal)
Alignment could and should have an effect on the spell for non-domain affected casters, most likely divided down the good/neutral/evil and law/chaos axes.
------------------------------------
Coin merchant:
Will this npc be selling goods like it used to at one time? It's conversation only supports the (not yet working) coin trading part of its services.

Other NPCs will soon carry what he used to though. "Frarry", the travelling halfling jewelry merchant will move next update from Reitheillaethor to a location she can serve all classes/alignments better from.

I totally agree that gate should be alignment based, but can the changes please be cosmetic only? I really don't want to handle even more "this domain's summons are so much more powerful than my PC's domains" complaints from players. For the moment can we just keep Balors for the evils guys, and introduce Planetars for the good guys and Maruts for neutrals? If possible give them all the same stats and abilities.

I wouldn't mind this as a short term "fix". However, some PC's are just as strongly opinionated about the lawful/chaos axis as they are the good/evil. I know of a few PC's that would never use the gate spell if it summoned a being of the opposite law/chaos alignment. So while this may work for now, I would agree that at least 5 different creatures should be available; the 4 corners and TN.

Well it's impossible to make all players happy, but you could have Balor for CE, Pit Fiends for LE, and since Planetars can be LG,NG or CG that just leaves TN. Can't think of a suitable TN right now...

Rilmani are the TN outsider. Though, I know almost nothing about them. Perhaps an "Argenach" or "Ferrumach" Rilmani

Maruts er LN, but could possibly suit a TN character.

As far as core D&D, the only TN outsiders that are really prominent are elementals it seems. I think there's more though if you dig into the Monster Manuals deep enough, they just aren't very well known by most. The most memorable outsiders anyway tend to be at the edges of the alignment spectrum (LG, CG, LE, CE).

er? Anyways, how about a Tree Ghost? Think those are true neutral? I think there might be some Mechanus beings that are also true neutral.
