Blingdenstone
For uncounted years a bulwark of good in the otherwise evil Underdark, Blingdenstone was a city of the deep gnomes, or svirfneblin - a furtive, cautious folk who carefully avoided conflict with their darker and more powerful neighbors. Abandoning their careful ways, the gnomes allied with Mithral Hall when the dwarfhold came under attack from the drow city of Menzoberranzan, and played an instrumental role in defeating the drow onslaught. In doing so, they earned the cold hatred of the great drow city and sealed their own doom.
