Dalagar's Dagger
The highest peak in the mortheast range of the Nether Mountains is topped by a sharp, daggerlike pinnacle. Over a thousand years ago, the dwarf Dalagar lost his life climbing the trecherous, crumbling lower cliffs of the peak, which fall away in sheets when subjected to too much weight. The mountain is still considered too dangerous to climb. For still-mysterious reasons, many aged blue, green, and black dragons come here to die, plunging from the skies to impale themselves on the Dagger. Their bones litter the shoulders of the high peak below the pinnacle, and scattered among these remains are the coins, gems, and jewelry they coated their scales with in life.
This treasure remains largely undisturbed because the Morume dragons (who won't touch a ring or coin of it) furiously defend the peak against aerial approach. They seem to have some way of knowing when any creature draws close to the Dagger. The Morumes have twice torn away wyrmlings who came not to die but to plunder. One of those "dragons" turned out to be a human mage employing shapechanging magic - the Morume dragons took the trouble to learn where he and dwelt, and publicly returned his remains there as a warning to other ambition wizards.
