With the next few updates here, we'll be fleshing out how some of the various NPCs react to PCs and other NPCs.
- The Elvesof the High Forest will treat Half Orc PCs as foes. A "shoot first and let the Seldarine sort 'em out" order will be in effect.
- The approaches to Elven Settlements will be posted with warnings if their guards are going to be hostile to Half Orcs.
- Many Elven Merchants found within the High Forest (regardless of whether they are in a village/outpost or not) will refuse to barter with Half Orcs and often with PCs of evil alignments. Some may only deal with Non-Evil Elves or Half Elves.
- Elven Guards/Defenders will grant XP if killed.
- Half Orcs that have "proven" themselves over time and with deeds appropriate can recieve an "Elf Friend" Token which will be recognised by Elven NPCs. These tokens will ONLY be handed out by our Admins (Kalbaern or Quendros) and only after a thorough review of the PC in question. DMs and Guild Leaders will make the token requests to the Admins.
The Woods "have Eyes" now.
- Elven Rangers may randomly patrol sections of the forest. These Patrolling Elves will not however attack Half Orcs without due cause.
- The Elves have many "eyes and ears" in their woods. Killing any normally non-hostile elf or their various allies has a 1 in 20 chance per incident for the "act" to be noticed and reported.
"Due Cause" as defined by Elven Patrols is represented by an "Elf Foe" token in a PC's inventory. These tokens are undroppable and can only be removed by petitioning the DM Team. The DM Team will then observe PCs and decide whether or not "absolution" will be granted. The "Elf Foe" tokens will be given out via scripting when attacks are made upon normally non-hostile elves and/or their allies in the woods. The base chance of recieving the token is 1 in 20 for each NPC killed.
The following have a chance to drop an "Elf Foe" token on their slayer:
- Non-Hostile Elven Patrols
- Cooshee
- Dryads
- Centaurs
- Satyrs
- Pixies
- Sprites
- Nymphs
- Blink Dogs
- Brownies
- Unicorns
- Pegasi
- Treants (normal, not corrupted or "dark treants")
- Various other Non-Hostile but aligned NPCs (NPCs of the Lord's Alliance, Harpers, Good/Neutral Druid Circles, etc...).

Other similar changes in the pipeline and coming to an update near you soon.
- Dwarves with their own set of reactions based on Race/Alignment/Guild Affiliations.
- Zhents with their own set of reactions based on Race/Alignment/Guild Affiliations.
- Various other Race/Alignment/Class/Guild based NPC reactions. (EX: Undead that might decide to chat instead of attack a member of a Necro Guild unless attacked first.)
