Just so all know that little add that's always on proboards forums, and all the adds everywhere else will contain a virus that instantly goes onto your computer without clicking or anything so just be careful.

I have never, ever had this problem on the three Proboards sites I visit regularly, and I've browsed on computers with Avast, McAfee, and Norton. By the way, why do you think it's the ad? Only slightly related, check out this picture of Anne McCaffrey I found while trying to find the way McAfee is spelled.

Just because I want to make sure I understand things correctly. You're saying that the ad underneath the Savage Frontier picture is a hidden virus that's downloading itself onto my computer? How do you know this? How does this virus affect your computer? I think you're confusing it as it's similar to spyware. The ads from AdChoices will sometimes show you ads on things that you may have recently searched. So for example if I was looking at pictures of gnomes I might get an ad showing me Irstlain in a provocative position telling me gnome porn is the best and to come take a look. I'm telling you that there's no secret virus in the Proboard ads, unless you click on the gnome porn ones that is (BOY did I EVER learn from that mistake!). Just ask Kal (about the virus not gnome porn).

You likely have some type of malware runing that creates popups based on where you surf. This can (and does often) open up and download viruses. Its not just a ProBoards issue. It can happen (and does more often) on Face Book, YouTube, Google and Yahoo sites and lots of other places. Blocking Pop Ups prevents most. Setting your PC's Security to never allow downloads without confirmation is even better.

If you use firefox, Ad Blocker and Ad Blocker Plus Pop-up Addon works wonders.

My version of IE allows me to block adds too. I think it's IE7Pro.
