Current Timeline:
1368 - THE YEAR OF THE BANNER
Ches: With above average raids by goblins this past winter, Mayor Felishar Ivarzin of Orlbar allows Zhentarim Troops stationed near Llorkh to suppliment the town's forces as well as head west in the Gray Wilds to establish a base camp to purportedly conduct a summer offensive and drive the goblins and their ilk back into the Graypeak Mountains.
Tarsakh: Winter's chill linger's despite days growing slowly longer. Zhentarim in and around Orlbar have yet to have a pronounced effect against the goblinoids they are supposedly there to defend the town from. Perhaps a late spring offensive as promised will yield substantial results.
Mirtul: Though Spring seems to have come late, its arrived in fullforce in the north. Streams have begun to swell, flowers bloom and of course, various humanoid tribes grow restless once again.
The Zhentarim forces whose reported intention was to help secure Orlbar and lead a spring offensive against the goblins seem to be changing their tactics. Instead they are building a small Keep on the eastern side of the Shining Falls from which they claim they'll need to finish prior to any offensive actions. If queried, Mayor Felishar Ivarzin of Orlbar states that this is merely a prudent course of action as the goblins and others are more numerous than most folk realise.
"Rumors":
- Thay has recently opened several new enclaves and lesser trading posts throughout Faerun this spring and past winter. The Zulkirs have therefore ramped up production of enchanted items to supply their new customers. Inquiries at the recently opened "Thay Mart" in Llorkh reveal that several large shipments of goods are due to arrive any day now.
- Despite recent influxes of Zhentarim troops, news from Zhentil Keep itself is scarce or simply unspoken. However, Bards in Loudwater and places farther west have begun to sing songs leading many to think some kind of internal strife is ongoing in Zhentil Keep itself.
Kythorn: As the north starts to warm with summers coming, word reaches the towns south of the High Forest of a conflict within. Uthgardt Barbarians of the Blue Bear Tribe, under "Tanta Hagara" have in just a single days time overrun the old fiend ridden fortress and claimed it as their own.
If rumours are to be believed, the fiends previously inhabiting Hellgate Keep have been flushed into the surrounding woods and possibly even the underdark. Exactly what purpose the Blue Bears now hold the keep for are currently unknown.
