We are a "Full PvP" server here. We do however have rules concerning the "wheres" and "whens" you can initiate PvP and Pick Pocketing though.
PVP (Player verses Player Combat)
1) The player(s) initiating combat is/are responsible for setting the target(s) to dislike prior to an attack. Setting players to "dislike" only means there exists the possibility of an attack, not that there will be one.
2) If set to dislike and you have no other IC reasons to make preparations for an attack, then you should not. Grabbing weapons, donning armor and casting spells in preparation with no IC reason is not allowed. If you're caught unprepared then it's expected you'll play it out for better or worse.
3) "Toggling" other players to "dislike" only so you can use Sanctuary or Greater Sanctuary as a means of invisibility is an exploit here. Both are to be used only during combat or to flee from imminent combat with other players after they have set you to dislike while in plain sight ... and have given you an IC reason to fear an attack.
4) If due to PvP you die and end up respawning, or are raised from the dead, you'll awake having no memories of the "whys" of your demise. You cannot respawn and head out for "revenge" after a PvP encounter. Barring living witnesses to the events or clear cut proof in another form, you'll have no IC reason to seek out the one that slew you. If you are unsure as to how long you don't remember events about your death, a good rule of thumb is that your PC has forgotten about the last 30 mins of real time leading up to their death.
5) PvP Combat is not allowed in Shops, Inns or Taverns of any type. The OOC Start Area and designated "Safe Rest" Areas in large dungeons are also off limits for PvP.
6) PvP within the line of site of any NPC is not allowed unless first approved by a DM. The Dm may or may not intervene as the RP dictates, but this allows a chance for "witnesses" to the incedent as well as "guards" intervening.
7) All PvP MUST have a valid IC reason behind it. "I'm evil" is not such a reason.
8) Win or Lose, each reason and PvP event stands on its own. If you defeat someone and see them walking about a few days later, you've no valid reasons to attack them again based on that alone.
9) It is advised, but not required that any person(s) that think(s) PvP is about to occure alert a DM in advance. DMs will as a rule just observe such happenings incase there are later IC or OOC disputes arising from the event.
10) When in doubt, take and save screenshots of the event for later evidence.
11) Flagrant "Griefers" and "PKers" will not be tolerated. Any DM may boot troublemakers immediately from the server if they feel such is needed. They will then make a full report to the Admin here as to the facts of the event that preceeding booting the player. It will be up to the Admin to either Ban or Warn the player(s) in question.
Pick Pocketing:
1) Pick Pocketing of NPCs is not allowed here. If caught, you will be banned.
2) Pick Pocketing of fellow players is allowed. However, you must make sure a DM observes the attempt. Any items over 3lbs or valued over 200gp must be returned OOCly. Any items over 1x2 in size must also be returned. DMs will handkle the returning of items so that players need not. In cases where an unallowed item(s) were taken, the DM will swap it for a sum of coin not to exceed 50gp.
3) You may target each PC for a Pick Pocket attempt once per calender week here. Even if you fail the attempt you must wait out the week befotre trying again on the same PC.
4) If caught making a Pick Pocket attempt by your target they may treat it as an attack. Furthermore, they may attack you immediately even without first setting your character to dislike in this instance.
