I'm not getting any appraise check notice when I talk to merchants.
Is this intentional?

I'm not getting any appraise check notice when I talk to merchants. Is this intentional? Yup. Appraise checks are still made with NPCs (placeable shops do not use appraise and all pay the same), just the result is now hidden. If someone wishes to know -how well- they rolled, they can do that by price comparisons. The main reason is that since our NPCs (unlike most PWs) actually have appraise points themselves, even a poor roll by a PC with a few points can beat a decent roll by a PC with none at times. The OOC "results" often made folk assume they were getting a better or poorer actual price than if they simply payed attention to prices too. In short, yes, it's intentional. It's mostly just an OOC habit breaker for folk that rebuff, swap gear, etc... when they see an OOC message is all. |
