A wildfire swept through the city of Slave Lake Alberta, where my sister lives. Approximately 40% of the community was reduced to rubble and ash.
I wanted to take a moment to remind everyone with summer seasons approaching to be careful when camping or participating in outdoor activities. Smokers should be careful with their cigarettes, a casually tossed butt in the wrong conditions can have a surprisingly devastating effect. Campfires should be restricted to properly prepared campsites and fire pits.
Most of all, remember your fire safety. Stop drop and roll! Never go back into a burning building, for any reason. And so forth.
