This pertains to the deity restriction on rangers, that they have to follow a nature deity.
Several deities that are NOT listed as nature deities have Ranger as a multiclass for their clerics. For instance:
Kelemvor (LN) Followers: LG, LN, LE Domains IG: Death, Protection, Travel Clerics of Kelemvor may multiclass as divine champions, rangers and fighters.
Are these deities with ranger allowances an exemption to the 'rangers must worship nature deities' rule, or are we only allowed to make clerics and multiclass into ranger?

In cases where a non-nature deity allows multi-classing as a ranger, clerics of that faith may do so. It would be expected that when taking ranger classes, that you also choose appropriate favored enemies. Any guess which might suit Kelemvor? Unless using a a deities multiclassing options though (or a paladin or monk order's options) you must worship a nature deity to be a ranger or druid in the Forgotten Realms.
