*heard spoken hauntingly in the dead of night, echoing between the shadows of Orlbar and then again around Lorkh*
Alone, I walk the roads of death
In the silence of the three
Piercing shrouds of life, of breath
And soon I come for thee
Beyond the roil of worldly strife
It is my fate to tread
Walking through the shadow lands
Communing with the dead
You know me not, Oh! mortal man
So blinded by life’s glimmer
But the shadows of my shroud you’ll touch
As life’s flame flickers dimmer
Of gossamer, of shadow thread
I weave a spell for thee
All bound with wails of ruined souls
Death’s monstrous filigree
Chill and deadly, Ruin’s hands
E'er spin the threads of death
I yearn for the, I wait for thee
I hasten thy last breath
I am the power behind the dark
The conjurer of fear
I am the icy kiss of death
Behind the wall of fear
The river of your life flows fast
Between the shores of years
It bears thee ever on to me
Behind the veil of tears
Listen! Listen, ‘mid the dark
‘Mid the silence of the night
I seek for thee, I yearn for thee
Thy soul to scorn and blight
Closer, closer, art thou born
By light of Moon and Sun
I see thy face so clearly now
Thy life is all undone
To me! To me, Oh mortal soul
To me thy life steers straight
No god awaits on brilliant throne
Thy soul is mine by right.
