What sort of restrictions are on the type of armor rangers can wear? Erm .. a ranger can wear whatever he wishes. If he wears heavy armors he just loses his ranger bonuses is all. If he wears a pink gown and fuzzy slippers he gets made fun of .. so wear what ya want.

I do believe, according to the FRCS, Mielikki is the only nature deity that allows her druids to wear metal armor without restriction. But that's table top, could craft say breastplate, to look and RP as if it were made of bark or leather or whatever.
Though, I'm going to leave this question and answer at Kalbaern's discretion.

This is correct, however in nwn, it doesn't really matter. I know people that rp some armor as leather or scale made out of ironwood.
