I'm sure this is some kind of mistake? I got xp from trap disarming and lock picking done by a teammate while I was dead. I also gained xp and gold from a boss monster killed by a teammate while I was dead.
Is this supposed to occur?

I also gained xp and gold from a boss monster killed by a teammate while I was dead. Is this supposed to occur? Short answer ... yes. There's nothing more frustrating to many players than dieing right before your party defeats a Boss. You gave you all in most cases and should reap the rewards as well. I've also seen a party get smeared near a battles end when they stop fighting to raise friends. Not raise them to help, but rather raise them because the "boss" is near death and they want to ensure their buddies get the reward too .... then the "boss" gets in a lucky hit or two and they lay dead with the ones they were trying to bring back Since all of our party based awards share the same include file, they all award XP whether live or dead ... so long as you are on the same map. that you got trap XP while dead does however annoy me. One of the things that irks me the most is when I see players looting corpses and chests before even blinking and helping the fallen. It's on my top ten list just after anything having to do with gnomes

It goes to show something about a player that after 14 days in the game he has made his main character enter a top 10 irk list of a DM

To quote one of my PCs: "Half the party is dead? Do you know what that means? Double loot shares for us!".

To quote one of my PCs: "Half the party is dead? Do you know what that means? Double loot shares for us!". It does of course depend on circumstances. But I think you're either going to help your comrades or not. If you lack the means, then go ahead and loot. Logic and not alignment should dictate that. If your group got wiped you'd heal them so they could at least watch your back while you raid chests, etc.. . It's metagaming to assume there are no more threats left simply because you're three steps from an OOC exit portal. It doesn't bother me if a PC simply refuses to help the fallen, that's fine so long as it's IC. It's a different matter too when someone is tending the rest while another loots. there's just some players (not PCs, but actual players) that just have to have the first peek at what's found though and it rubs me the wrong way.

I recently changed most of our "XP" scripts here. Now, any XP gains by a party member on the same map should be shared by the rest whether alive or dead. I'll delete this topic in the near future.

In the case of Evil characters not Raising fallen teammates (which mine are too shrewd to do; even your annoying Paladin is worthless to Lilibeza if he's dead, so she'll try to fix that ASAP...), what about Animating them as zombies instead? Is that doable?
