Is another one like the Lycanthorpe question really. Same rules would apply. Yes we could allow someone to become a vampire if it is DM approved and overseen, and done through some quest with extensive rp. They might be able to play as a vampire for a week or so even. But some cure would have to be found, or the creature would have to be slain, or the pc moves into becoming an npc. I would like see this type of rp done personally, but don't want to see the flood gates open on people that want to be emo vamps, that twinkle in the sun like their skin is made up of diamonds.

This pretty much answers this question as well Would the server ever allow a player to role play a lycanthorpes? Short answer is "No". I wouldn't rule this out as part of a DM run event, but outside of that there's no rea lgood way to actually enforce the changes and abilities inherent in this curse. - When a "change" overcomes such a victim they are no longer in control of themselves. As such they cannot really be allowed as a PC but as an NPC only at that point. - If changes are based on Moon Cycles or Day/Night they are easilly scripted. But, ... how many players would we have screaming if they log in and it's during a "change" period and suddenly armor worn fails a saving throw as they grow out of it and destroy it? Then drop all of their belongings with no way to retrieve them while shifted? With no good way to enforce such things, we'll simply not have them here. In the end it'd be nothing but a headache. And yes ... many servers do allow them. But they all also fall short of the "true" representations of such creatures. Werecurses and vampirism both also attract folk that use either curse/disease as a loophole to play something exotic too. In both cases, afflicted PCs can really nolonger be PCs for a good long while. In both cases they essentially become NPCs in the control of others and not able to make decisions for themselves. Since there's no way to really handle either case without a dedicated 24/7 DMs just for this purpose it'll never be implimented here.

Thank you, and that is exactly the answer I was hoping for. I personally probably won't pursue it but I like to know what the options are.
