Would the server ever allow a player to role play a lycanthorpes? This gets into this topic a good bit: frsavagefrontier.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=suggestions&action=display&thread=490With all that said on that thread, I don't honestly see why at any certain time, rp should be done, plotlines can roll on, whatever the case, we can't have a pc be a Werecreature for a short while. I do not however see it becoming something that would permanent, or if it was that pc would possible become an npc. So, if someone can play a Lychanthorpe here? Sure, but with limitations. Quests would have something about that in it. Wouldn't be forever as a Lychanthorpe, or could be forever as a lychanthorpe npc. Example: Player A gets bite by a werecreature during a quest or event. A DM is contacted asking if the player can actually go through the changes into a werecreature. DM says yes, but a cure must be found ASAP, or the creature must die, or the pc will no longer be a playable PC, and would have to be an npc at that time. So yeah, for a short while they could play a pc as a werecreature, but won't be permanent. Hope this helps.

Would the server ever allow a player to role play a lycanthorpes? Short answer is "No". I wouldn't rule this out as part of a DM run event, but outside of that there's no real good way to actually enforce the changes and abilities inherent in this curse. - When a "change" overcomes such a victim they are no longer in control of themselves. As such they cannot really be allowed as a PC but as an NPC only at that point. - If changes are based on Moon Cycles or Day/Night they are easilly scripted. But, ... how many players would we have screaming if they log in and it's during a "change" period and suddenly armor worn fails a saving throw as they grow out of it and destroy it? Then drop all of their belongings with no way to retrieve them while shifted? With no good way to enforce such things, we'll simply not have them here. In the end it'd be nothing but a headache. And yes ... many servers do allow them. But they all also fall short of the "true" representations of such creatures. Werecurses and vampirism both also attract folk that use either curse/disease as a loophole to play something exotic too. In both cases, afflicted PCs can really nolonger be PCs for a good long while. In both cases they essentially become NPCs in the control of others and not able to make decisions for themselves. Since there's no way to really handle either case without a dedicated 24/7 DMs just for this purpose it'll never be implimented here.

Thanks that answer works for me. I am just exploring a few odd concepts I have had over time before settling on a main PC.
Thanks
