Is this the same Savage Frontier from way back in the day?

Hi all.

Back in the day I played (and DMed) on a NWN PW world server called the Savage Frontier. This was a long time ago (I became a DM when I was 15 and am now 28 to give you an idea). As far as I know this server went down around 2007-2008 which looks like it lines up with the inception of this server pretty closely.

So is there some kind of shared history or is it a coincidence?

On the other hand, is there anyone here from that server?

No, we're a completely different entity. I knew that at one point when we started out there had been a "Savage Frontier", but it was already long gone all all that survived were some incomplete haks on the IGN Vault for NWN (afew were migrated to subsequent community hosted vaults).

I know "they" had a plan to add some custom classes and stuff in old posts and had wrote to the old dev, but they wrote back that the testing never bore fruit.

That's the extent of my knowledge of "them". I'm afraid.

We did originally plan on calling this PW "The Savage Frontier" based on the 2E source book by the same name. We add "and Surrounds" because we'd be incorporating areas considered as "other" regions outside of the Savage Frontier.

Well bobfred, even if we're not the same place that you played in before ... consider giving us a looking. Great map areas, xp system is customized and works well for parties and such, not a lot of folks but we're nice and avoid drama

Thanks guys. I'll consider joining up! I don't have much time for that kind of gaming any more, but I love the concept. I'll see if I can find some time!
