So while Hungry Crow (as Gustav Ogders) and I (as Barleigh Stoughfarrow) were out adventuring and rescuing those Haggard Miners from that one mine, Crow mentioned that he couldn't unsummon Gustav's Unseen Servant. And after Crow logged off, I went to park Barleigh in Orlbar's barn-shrine and found out that the Unseen Servant was even more persistent than we had thought. There should probably be an Unsummon option and a limited duration on the Unseen Servant and its spell, huh?

If the cleanup script is working correctly in that area, it should have disappeared after you left the area (Actually go back outside, not port to the OOC area). I can't speak for the spell not "stopping," but leaving the barn from the front door and then returning should have gotten rid of the servant... SHOULD.

I remember that switching characters seemed to work. I logged off with Barleigh, went to bed, woke up, logged on with Maralah and walked her into the barn, and the servant was gone.

Servants and some other henchman based summons like the Tenser's Floating Disc are a constant pain in the ass. The reason is that they depend on a OnHeartBeat event script to check and see if their summoner is still there before destroying themselves. They also have delays and have to fail the check several times before they actually get poofed just incase whoever summoned them crashed and are coming back.
Area cleaners ignore these creatures, just in case you crash.
In NWN, heartbeats stop on an NPC when there are no PCs in the area any longer. Generally, if someone who was not the original caller/summoner is in the area and near these NPCs, they eventually despawn themselves. Recent updates and a new conversation added to them should have this mostly fixed now.
