some of these are random musings. Some of these are " ARG WHY"
Why is cookware so heavy (and fragile)? when i used to go camping I would carry a ceramic coated cast iron kettle. Thing weighed around 8 lbs, and would feed an army... the one we have is 15.5 (i think) and is good for 20 uses. I think alot more people would utilize cooking on the road if it was 1 use/day and 5-10 lbs. (just remove the ability to rest from it to offset the changes
are there cookbooks or scattered recipes you can find? (related: why is salt so expensive? 58 gold for one use seems a bit odd. )
What exactly do hot peppers do when you eat them? I can't figure it out other than a brief visual effect
are there going to be specialized crafting stations for things other than swords? (ie, Axes, Bows hammers... )
Why is the ring that adds 2 level 0 spellslots for wizards so expensive? I was thinking about this. By the time a low level wiz can afford to drop 2k, this ring is already useless. Why not put it at the blacksmith for say 500-600 for use as starter gear for lowbie spell-casters.

A: The portable cookpots were recently reduced in weight and now only weigh 5.5 pounds. Since cookpots also double as a resting placeable, they'll always utilize charges here.

A: There are no current IG sources for recipes beyond the ones displayed in the description of the permanent one set up in Orlbar. There are however many more valid recipes that will work in the cookpots. You'll have to experiment or find out ICly from others IG. Cookbooks and Recipe Cards will be added as loot at some point, other things just currently have a higher priority.
Why is salt so expensive? Because its a precious resource is why. In RL, up until the late Middle Ages, Salt was often worth its weight in gold. The old saying "Worth his salt" pays homage to such times and the practice of salt often being traded/used inplace of coinage. It all boils down to the difficulty in recovering salt. Making salt from brine (sea water) took years to do so in significant quantities. This leave mining as the quickest way to gather salt and that of course has its own hazards. IG, salt is one of many "found" resources though. It's found as one of several options when mining for ores here. So in addition to the above, most "things" that can be gained for "free" while foraging/fishing/mining have a much higher price when sold IG by a merchant to promote the usage of those systems over simply buying your supplies.
What exactly do hot peppers do when you eat them? I can't figure it out other than a brief visual effect
A: Hot peppers work just like other "veggies" in that when eaten, they heal 1hp. They just also have a "whimsical" visual effect to comicly portray their stereotypical fiery taste.

A: Yes.

A: Despite what many think, even Level 0 Spells can be extremely useful. Pending a change is the Spell "Light", which will soon grant the same minor bonus (and a hide penalty) as equipping a torch does. Acid Splash, while low impact, does work well after downing a troll and some other creatures, especially if you lack a torch or as most mages do at low levels, have difficulties hitting even a "downed" creature with a torch to keep it from regenerating. Othe cantrips have many other uses in combat as well, especially when a guaranteed hit with little damage out weighs better damage, but little chance of hitting. Despite how affordable or unaffordable an item like this is, it still grants you something for "free" perpetually thereafter. So any item regardless of the spell(s) or feat(s) or skill bonus(es) granted had a significant mark up here for each such attribute.
