The Meaning of Image Alteration
Image alteration is of course, modifying existing images. I will say right up that I'm hardly an artist. While I can draw a few things people definitely are not one of them. I can however edit existing images which means that when I find an image that suits a character except for those annoying details that are off I can fix them, mostly! Fun huh?
In effect, I can change eye color, hair color, clothing color.. pretty much any color that needs changing. I can alter and add things, filling in gaps in clothing that have weird holes in them, taking out tattoos, sometimes adding tattoos, scars, patterns on clothes, and the like. I can blend images to say, change heads, or add wings, or the like, though these modifications are harder for me and I won't always be able to get it done. I'm also not the best at adding edges, much better instead at filling in and altering what exists already.
What's required
I enjoy doing image work but I require it to be organized or I easily lose track. As such there's a few simple guidelines to follow.
The Catch
Your image will be included here in this "before and after" gallery. If your image is resized to a portrait it will be added to my collection which may result in it becoming part of future portrait packs that I release on NWN vault.
These portraits may be used by anyone ; once you request my edits I provide them freely for everyone that wants to enjoy them for their characters.
How do I do it?
I use photoshop. Primarily the tools I use are color replacement brushes, blur tools, and multilayering to overlay images or change certain colors. I am by no means a professional, and it's likely there are much better ways. I'm not really suited to teaching people how as I mostly blunder through for fun.
Now I'm going to start with myself!
Gold Dragon Disciple edit
I wanted to make a gold dragon disciple. I tasked myself with finding an image that had wings i liked. Unfortunately it was an image of a male fiend. Oh well.

- Find an image that you like to represent your character. If you want a different background, or items added in, please find those images as well. Save the urls (web addresses) to these images.
- Send me a pm on this forum. The pm must include: A friendly hello! Links to the images as described above. A list of changes you want made. The more detailed the better. Try not to ask for too many changes per image. Note that if you say "blue eyes" that's pretty vague, "navy blue" or "sky blue" will get you something much closer to what you want. List form is tidy and makes it simpler for me. Be sure to note if you want the image resized for use as an NWN portrait.
- I appreciate, but do not require, the name of the artist that crafted the original image.
- Patience. Above all else have that in store for me. I may be busy, or not feel like doing art at the time. If a week goes by and I don't reply give me a nudge
