Thanks for the good wishes all.
I thought it was my video card going again but turns out to be my monitor.
Problem is I need a non-widescreen one for work and those are like rockinghorse shite these days.
After checking the local PC and electrical stores have ended up ordering one online. Hopefully it will be here within a few days.
Update: Play.com surpassed themselves and delivered the next day. Shame the monitor itself is cack. *sighs* Somedays I feel like giving up using a PC and just use consoles instead.

Have you go tany local flea markets? Goodwill stores? Salvation Army thrift stores? What they sell isn't exactly elegant, but it often works as a stop gap. Sometimes you can even find diamonds in the midden. It beats going blind in front fo a crap monitor. I know what its like trying to work with a bad monitor. It's torture.

Just letting you all know technical issues are spreading and now my lappy 386 has failed finally. This means I have to take it to Best Buy so the warranty monkeys can work on it. In the meantime I will be scouring my place for desktop parts to remake my frankenstein monster so that I can play. Wish me luck!

Shame you're not closer, may have a few bits here that would help! After some investigation it turns out that the ghosting on my new monitor is due to the VGA extension cable I'm using. Going to try swapping to digital output and see if that helps. *mutters* Gotta go buy a digital cable now. |

I received the call letting me know that my laptop is in from repairs. Soon I'll be off to pick it up. Then the real test to see if it was fixed begins.

So I picked up my lappy now I have to reinstall everything since they replaced the hard drive and some cables. Then stress test time!

Work was long and busy today so it looks like it will be a bit longer, maybe later tonight, before I get it all installed and tested. Computers are such a boon when they work and worse than kids when they break!
