Everyone seems to claim they're old farts these days, but how old are you really? I'll go first. I'm 34 years old. This year is actually my 20th anniversary of playing RPGs. I started with 1st Edition D&D at the age of 14.

I'm 43 and could care less if you youngsters think that is ancient. Started with the legendary D&D boxset 31 years ago. Quickly moved to the Expert set when that came out...it was pretty lame but then AD&D spawned along with the Greyhawk Campaign Seting and all the fabulous original Gygax modules...damn that was definately the Golden Age for PnP!

47 *waves his cane at the rest*
First played Chainmail which was a miniatures supplement with the first D&D boxed set. My friends and I played for about 6 months using mimeographed copies of Gygax's hand written rules in a gaming room at a nearby Hobby Shop. This was sometime in the fall of '73. Apperently advanced rules releases were sent to several Midwest shops to see if there was interest.
The next summer we picked up the boxed set. I also recall that the only thing D&D detracted from was cartoon watching back then. On sunny days, we still prefered outdoor sports.

also started with the red boxed set, but it was second-hand from my older brother who didn't like the game.

I remember 70 years old always seemed to make someone an old person. Now with my parents approaching 60, 70 doesn't seem that old.
