Kal, I'm just getting to this thread now. Dear Lord, man, I hope you get well soon and that the whole process is as un-terrible as possible. I'm glad you made it through alive. Hang in there strong, man, we're all pulling for you.

I'm doing much, much better, but still have a good ways to go. While I still can't bear weight on my right leg, I'm allowed to remove the immobilizer if not travelling around so I can begin flexing my knee and ankle some. I'm told it'll be September before I can begin putting weight on the leg ... though I hope not. While part of me enjoys the challenge of figuring out how to do stuff one-legged ... the lack of freedom at not yet being able to drive ... or jump back on a motorcycle gets a little frustrating at times. Living in a tri-level home doesn't make things too easy either, but I've learned to plan my trips through the house, up and down stairs, over thresholds, etc... for maximum efficiency. Family and friends worry ceaselessly and hover constantly, even though I still end up standing on my good leg to grab stuff from the kitchen cupboards that is out of their reaches for them. I've been working half days ... 5-6 days a week and its not proven to be a harsh strain yet. I also spend a good deal of time just resting between workouts or work. Generally, my leg will begin swelling when not elevated .. and after a few hours I need to lay down and raise it again until it subsides some ... then I'm up and off again for a bit. Sitting upright at a desk isn't comfortable either and I usually have two hours at a stretch max ... so I haven't been playing much. I tried playing in bed with a laptop, it just doesn't work for me. Building, yes. Playing, no. All in all, I still count myself blessed. It could've been far worse of an outcome and ... I can still wipe my own ass.

Good news (given the circumstances, of course) Kal, I hope you recover ASAP to full health!
